  • Peanut Sauce: 4 tbsp natural peanut butter, 2 tbsp soy sauce (or tamari), 1 tbsp maple syrup or honey, 1 tbsp rice vinegar or lime juice, 1 tsp grated fresh ginger, 1 small garlic clove (minced), 2–3 tbsp warm water (to thin), 1/2 tsp chili flakes (optional).
  • Garnish: 2 tbsp chopped roasted peanuts, 2 tbsp sliced scallions, fresh cilantro leaves, lime wedges.

Instructions

Step 1
Press the tofu: Wrap tofu in a clean kitchen towel and place a heavy object on top. Let it press for 10–15 minutes to remove excess moisture.

Cut tofu into 2 cm (3/4 inch) cubes.

In a bowl, toss tofu cubes with soy sauce and oil. Sprinkle with cornstarch, garlic powder, smoked paprika, and black pepper. Toss until evenly coated.

Preheat air fryer to 200°C (400°F) for 2 minutes.
Step 5
Arrange tofu cubes in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Cook for 12–15 minutes, shaking the basket halfway, until tofu is crispy and golden.
Step 6
Meanwhile, prepare the peanut sauce: Whisk together peanut butter, soy sauce, maple syrup, rice vinegar, ginger, garlic, and chili flakes. Add warm water 1 tablespoon at a time until desired consistency is reached.
